Decompression issue
Has anyone experienced unusually LONG Decompression dialogues when porting?
I recently reinstalled GW and the last update must have done something weird to the Decompression operation. When Porting, the game says "Decompressing" and sits there. Sometime for 5 mins depending on the location. I wouldn't see any disk activity or downloading most of the time during the operation.
The Samekinds of delays happens sometimes when first loading the game. Both the first connection to the servers and then again after clcking the login button. IT would sit for about 5 srconds and then try to connect but usually successful.
This is the first time I have ever seen this type of activity with this game. And it ONLY happens with this game.
I've even tried REINSTALLING again right down to downloading a fresh client exe, and I STILL see this.
...and NO I do not have the direct music pak.

There is a LOT of lag, and slow loading etc recently due to the roll out of Factions, Districts are slow, downloads/updates are slow, in game is slow...
give it a few days till the Factions content is complete and it should settle down again!

Yes...Even "I" have noticed slow loading times. No errors though. Just it took 10 minutes to upload the latest update.
You figure allot of people logging in and they are all downloading this update as well.

It wasn't the downloading. That was its usual speed. I figure that the connecting part of it would lag so I didn't really want say anything about it but mentioned it anyway.
It was the part where it says "Decompressing". Then it takes atleast 10 mins depending on how big the area is.
I have never seen this kind of activity from the entire year of playing GW. My computer isn't slow at all. Get ultra quick loading in other online games so I just don't get it.

I am curious to find out if these problems are CPU related or not.

I've been getting this off and on too
I've had two cases where (in a full party) I was "wrapped" in w/ all henchmen / npc's dead and other players are greyed out (out of zone)...
It was werid warping to FOW by myself, in fact the ghost was dead before I got there but it wasn't until I died that I got the option to return to oupost.
1st time this happened to me was after I had an update warping in to a town and during the process, I lost internet connection. I think something got messed up in the gw.dat file but can't prove it.

I get it every ocne and a while too. No idea what causes it, but since I'm in a AMD 3500+ i don't feel that the processor is a problem.
